Cooked on King is a charcoal chicken restaurant in the heart of Newtown’s King Street, which houses a vibrant community and offers one of the most electric dining experiences in Sydney. The aim of our design was to increase the visual relationship between the internal space of the restaurant and the external space (the street) and make the internal space feels more open and welcoming to customers. The kitchen is exposed at the front so you can see the chefs at work and to connect the customer to what they are doing.
Project Achievements
– Our design enhanced the internal environment of the restaurant by allowing the sunlight to enter more efficiently.
– Our design for the facade upgrade fit-in more with the modern character of King street which represents one of the busiest commercial streets in the area that has modern shop facades on the ground floor with heritage facades on the first-floor facades.
