This manor house in the Central Coast was CDC approved under the Low Rise Housing Diversity Code and is a class 2 building governed by the new Design and Building Practitioners legislation (the DBP). It is like a mini residential apartment building containing 4 residential dwellings strata titled over 2 levels with a large basement carpark. Each unit features 3 bedrooms, a large open living area and an outdoor entertainment area.
Not only was the site partly bushfire affected but the biggest challenge was the site topography which had a very steep cross-fall of over 5 metres forcing split levels for all the units with many cut and fill challenges. This inspired a more creative design and careful planning to take advantage of the site constraints to create 4 x 100sqm luxury apartment style units that maximises the views and overall has a strong architectural character. Currently under construction.
