The brief was to convert the existing residential property into a welcoming and functional childcare centre for 55 children. While the adaptive re-use of the existing building offered some design challenges, the resulting childcare centre is warm and inviting with a ‘homely’ feel which relates well to the neighbouring residential area. Inside there are three play spaces off a central reception, each space offering large open plan areas for easy supervision of children and plenty of natural light and ventilation for quality learning outcomes. Recently DA approved after almost 2 years in Liverpool Council.
